Rob McIntrye

Managing Partner, Dale Carnegie Manitoba

Rob has over 21 years of experience as a certified multi-course master trainer and executive coach, include public and keynote speaker. He has also been the owner of Dale Carnegie in Manitoba since 2004. 

Rob has delivered hundreds of motivational and thought-provoking presentations. Companies, professional clubs and charitable groups have all benefited from Rob’s unique ability to deliver a powerful message in a fun and exciting manner. 

 

 

Roy Timms

Roy’s career in design build construction started about 50 years ago as a student construction labourer and then a superintendent on a small design build renovation project.  Roy is a Professional Engineer who owned a design build company from 1974 to 2019, and a Professional Engineering company for over 30 years.

Roy has served on the Ontario Building Code Commission, is a Past President of the Ontario General Contractors Association, past Chairperson of the Canadian Design Build Institute, the Niagara Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Niagara Industrial Association, as well as other organizations.

Currently Roy acts as an owner’s agent and a strategic advisor to design build contractors.  Roy has experience in private sector industrial, commercial, and retail projects plus municipal work as an owner’s agent and a design builder.  These projects have ranged from small to $32,000,000.

Roy has received many honours, including a Life Membership from the Ontario General Contractors Association, and a Niagara Engineering Award of Merit.

Sean Usher

Director, Design Technology & Innovation, Republic Architecture Inc.

 Sean is the Director of Design Technology & Innovation at Republic Architecture. With over 10 years of experience in the AEC industry, he has led design technology implementation and applications, including BIM management, visualization, reality capture, and model analysis. Sean is also a founding member of the Winnipeg BIM Community, a BuildingSMART Canada affiliate group, and helps lead its efforts to promote and support digital delivery practices locally.

Sel Tse

Partner, Apex Surety & Insurance Ltd.

Sel Tse, CPA, CGA, CAIB, is a professional accountant and specialist in construction surety bonds with over 18 years of experience working in the industry. He has garnered extensive technical knowledge of the construction industry and the role surety bond plays in the industry servicing various clients with revenues of $500,000 to over $1 billion. 

He is actively involved in the construction industry as a member of various associations and is a regular contributor to courses hosted by the Winnipeg Construction Association. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, hockey and spending time with family.

Sharyne Hamm

Associate, Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP 

Sharyne’s practice is focused in the area of civil litigation, with a primary emphasis on construction litigation and dispute resolution. Sharyne has experience assisting clients with a variety of legal issues, including contractual disputes, builders’ liens, negligence, personal injury and collections.

Sharyne articled with Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP in 2016 and joined the firm as an associate in 2017.

Shawn Krenz

Senior Building Plan Examiner, City of Winnipeg

Shawn Krenz C.E.T. is currently the City of Winnipeg’s Senior Building Plan Examiner.  He is a Certified Engineering Technologist and graduated in 1998 with a diploma in Design and Construction Technology from Red River College.  He has 24 years of experience within the industry related to drafting, design, and fire protection.

Shawn has been with the City of Winnipeg’s Plan Examination Branch since 2004 and has been in his current role as Senior Building Plan Examiner since 2018.  He is responsible for supervising the Building Plan Examination staff that undertake the architectural fire and life-safety review of plans related to new construction, additions and alterations of commercial buildings, to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and by-laws.

Stephane McShane

Associate Director, Maxim Consulting Group

Stephane McShane is the Associate Director at Maxim Consulting Group responsible for the evaluation and implementation processes with clients. Stephane works with construction-related firms of all sizes to evaluate business practices and assist with management challenges. Stephane’s experience in the industry has given her extensive knowledge on the operational challenges companies face. Her areas of expertise include leadership development, executive coaching, organizational assessments, strategic planning, project execution, business development, productivity improvement and training programs. Stephane is an internationally-recognized speaker, mentor and teacher. Her ability to motivate, inspire and create confidence among work groups is extremely rare and very effective.

Stephane possesses the rare combination of talent from being in the field as an apprentice, electrician and foreman, and then working her way through each operational chair within a successful electrical construction firm. This talent is what makes her tremendously effective at operational and organizational assessments today. She has successfully conquered every operational position from being an estimating trainee through executive management. She has built, trained and led her teams to become the undisputed leaders in their markets. She is able to quickly identify organizational positives and negatives and assess appropriate action steps and throughputs.

Suzanne Checkryn

Suzanne Checkryn, P.Eng., PMP, MBA, is a professional engineer with 25 years of experience working in engineering, construction, and consulting. Throughout her career, Suzanne has worked with major firms to complete projects on schedule and to overcome significant engineering and construction challenges. She has been involved in a variety of projects, including multibillion-dollar projects with complex engineering, supply chain, construction, project controls, risk management, and change management requirements. Suzanne has extensive field experience working with owners, engineers, consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. 

In her current role as Revay’s Director, Prairies, Suzanne is responsible for the firm’s Calgary office which services Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. She has completed numerous mandates involving delay, loss of productivity, and cost quantification. She has been retained as expert for referee, mediation, arbitration, and litigation, and is a qualified expert.

Terry Danelley

LM Architectural Group

Terry Danelley, FRAIC, MAA, has over 30 years of experience with LM Architectural Group including 20 years as a principal, directing the firm’s educational facilities team in programming, planning and design of public, private and First Nations educational facilities, including daycare facilities, K-12 schools and post-secondary projects.

Terry’s experience includes a wide range of different building typologies and scales covering the institutional, educational, residential, office/commercial, and industrial market sectors. He has extensive experience in the design-bid-build, design-build, construction management and integrated project team delivery methods. 

Terry now acts as a special advisor to the partnership; serving LM’s education group and undertaking design and planning assignments related to that sector of the firm.

Tim Williams

President, BGC Partners Inc.

Tim Williams MBA, B.Econ., CPA, GSC, is the President of BGC Partners Inc. Tim has worked with numerous construction companies for over twenty years and earned his Gold Seal certification as a project manager. He is an experienced and sought-after trainer who has trained construction owners and managers on behalf of construction industry associations across Western Canada.
