Corinne Golding
Corinne is an independent specification writer, but says she never works alone. Successful projects with well-coordinated documents take teamwork. Besides the design teams she works with, she has a nationwide network of trusted and experienced contacts to help her develop and deliver a quality product. Corinne’s passion lies with sharing her knowledge to help produce well-coordinated construction documents and helping to educate and mentor new entrants in the construction industry.
Since graduating from the Architectural Technology program at NAIT in 1983, Corinne has worked for architectural firms across Canada, first as an architectural technologist, and for the last 20+ years as a specification writer. She became an independent architectural specification consultant in late 2016. Her projects, in both the public and private sectors, include laboratories and hospitals, art galleries and museums, mixed-use buildings, arenas, schools and libraries. Notable projects in Winnipeg as an independent specification consultant include Qaumajuq museum at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, Transcona Public Library, The Rink, Lux at Tux, and the Desautels Concert Hall (under construction at UofM). Notable projects completed prior to becoming self-employed include HSC Women’s Hospital, HSC Diagnostic Imaging, True North Square in Winnipeg; the Remai Modern art gallery, the International Vaccine Centre both in Saskatoon and many more.
Corinne has been an active member of CSC for over 25 years, and became a Registered Specification Writer (RSW) in 1998. She served as the CSC national president from 2010 to 2011, was inducted into the CSC College of Fellows in 2012, and currently serves on the Construction Canada editorial advisory board, and as an officer of the College of Fellows. Corinne has guest lectured at SAIT (Calgary), University of Manitoba and Red River College (Winnipeg), and has taught CSC courses both in classrooms and online, sharing her passion for CSC and its mission to educate, connect and lead the design and construction industry. She recently took part as a mentor in SAIT’s Women in Trades and Technology mentorship program recognizing how important her mentors were in developing her career and wanting to pay it forward.
