Construction Industry Ethics

Part of the Building Supervisors for Tomorrow (BST) program and one of the required courses of Gold Seal Certification.

Description

As a construction supervisor, you are most effective when you are trusted by your crew, other crews and senior managers. Generating trust requires you to conduct yourself with integrity, make ethical decisions, act in accordance with a company code of ethics and promote respect in the workplace. Working within an ethical framework helps supervisors ensure their crews are following rules and that problems are dealt with fairly and promptly.

Topics:

  • Understand what’s included in “ethical behaviour”
  • Be aware of the importance of ethics in business
  • Recognize ethics in the context of the law
  • Understand the direct link between ethics and a company’s success
  • Know how to make ethical decisions

This course is one of the approved Construction Industry Ethics courses for Gold Seal Certification. The other option is to take the eLearning (self-study).  It is worth 3 Gold Seal credits.

Intended Audience

Anyone in the industry!  It's a required course to complete your Building Supervisors for Tomorrow (BST) certificate program and one of the options required for Gold Seal Certification (GSC).
