Leading Non-English Speaking Workers in Construction

Description

Communication on the job site is key to safety, productivity, and teamwork—but when language and cultural differences come into play, it can be challenging. This interactive two-part course is designed to help supervisors and leaders in construction develop practical skills to communicate more effectively with newcomer employees and create a more inclusive work environment.

Topics:

  • Understand your role in fostering clear, inclusive communication.
  • Apply practical techniques to improve interactions with newcomer employees.
  • Build confidence in creating a workplace where everyone, regardless of language ability, can succeed.

Intended Audience

This course is designed for construction supervisors, forepersons, site managers, and team leads who oversee newcomer employees with limited English proficiency. If you’re responsible for directing work, ensuring safety, and fostering teamwork on the job site, this course will help you bridge language and cultural gaps for a more productive and inclusive work environment.
