BUILDING CODE: Renovations & Upgrading to Existing Buildings
Description
Working on an existing building? This session breaks down how the City of Winnipeg Building Bylaw, Manitoba Building Code, and Manitoba Fire Code apply to renovations, upgrades, and changes of use. You’ll also learn how the Richardson Report can be applied to the rehabilitation and reuse of some buildings.
We’ll cover what triggers full Code compliance, where “grandfathering” applies, and how upgrading orders come into play. Using case examples and workshop problems, you’ll get a practical understanding of how to navigate upgrades, additions, and changes of use while staying compliant.
