Energy Code for Contractors: What to Watch During Construction
Description
Energy-code requirements don’t stop at the design stage. Contractors play an important role in making sure those requirements are carried through during construction.
In this 3-hour seminar, you’ll look at how energy-code requirements translate to the field and where issues can arise during installation and coordination. Using practical examples, the session will highlight common construction deficiencies and higher-risk details related to insulation, thermal bridging, airtightness, and mechanical, electrical and control systems.
You’ll also explore field-checking practices, coordination between contractors and trades, and what to expect from airtightness testing and commissioning.
Topics:
- Common construction deficiencies
- Insulation, thermal bridging and airtightness
- Mechanical, electrical and control systems
- Coordination challenges between contractors and trades
- Field-checking practices
- Airtightness testing and commissioning
Intended Audience
- Project Managers
- Site Supervisors & Forepersons
